Thank you from all of us at Alpine Public Library for donating during Giving Tuesday – We raised $1,000!

Generous patrons have agreed to give us an additional $2,000.

Your donations during Giving Tuesday will help the library add resources and improve technology to help our community stay connected. According to US Census estimates, 14 to 16 percent of individuals in Brewster County are below poverty level, a marker known to greatly restrict online access in many populations. That was before COVID. The i3 Connectivity Explorer, a data tool developed by the Center for Internet as Infrastructure, estimates that 36% of Brewster County residents have no Internet connectivity at home, and that 13% of Alpine households (approximately 780 people) have neither Internet access nor a computer in the home. Our plans include hotspots and laptop computers for check out. We are also working on providing more online experiences for library patrons.
