APL offers several sources of eBooks for you to download and use on your personal device. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you get started.
1. From our library catalog, you have access to over 45,000 classics and titles in the public domain from the Project Gutenberg. Search by title or subject, and look for “Gutenberg.” (Warning: do not search on “Gutenberg” or you may lock up your device with too many results.)
2. From our 3M Cloud Library. Download the 3M app to search for newly released and popular eBook titles purchased by APL or any of our other eBook consortium members: Marfa Public Library, Jeff Davis County Library, or Fort Stockton Public Library. 3M Cloud Library Patron Apps User Guide
3. From our TexShare group of online resources. Ebooks from EBSCOHost includes titles from the world’s leading business, technology, trade, reference, academic, and scholarly publishers. Your library card number is required.
4. By checking out one of our Nook e-Readers. We have several e-readers for checkout pre-loaded with eBooks of different genres. This is a great way to practice your technology skills or to test out a device before purchasing! Your account must be in good standing. Books loaded on our nooks are searchable via our regular catalog. Stop by to pick one up!
